Funds for Historic Buildings

The Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust makes grants to charities and churches in Kent with the aim of improving the quality of life for local people.

The East Kent Rural and Coastal Community Grants programme is targeted at projects in East Kent that propose innovative ways of tackling rural and coastal community problems, or create a wider range of opportunities in these areas.

Grants are available for charities and other properly constituted organisations, including parish churches.

Organisations should be based and work within rural or coastal areas of East Kent.  Evidence of local need for the project will be required.

The Trust believes that local people should be at the heart of the regeneration of their area and that access to services and opportunities is essential to a sustainable rural way of life.  This grants programme is targeted at projects in East Kent that propose innovative ways of tackling rural and coastal community problems, or create a wider range of opportunities.  In particular, the Trust welcomes applications that provide leisure and sport facilities and facilities for children and teenagers.

Up to £75,000 with a minimum of £15,000.

Applications must be submitted using the Trust online application form.

Applications will be processed on a rolling basis, usually within 6 months.  All applicants will receive a letter informing them of the outcome as soon as it has been determined.

Although this programme has no historic-building interest per se, there is no reason why a building-based project should not apply, providing it fulfills the Trust's primary community regeneration / facilities objectives.
